The abstract body is limited to 300 words.

Avoid repetitive use of "US Faculty of Health Sciences" when entering the institution names and simply state the Department or Unit name if researchers are local - supply University details only if the author is from outside Stellenbosch University.

No figures, tables or bulleted lists are allowed.

Once you've registered as a user and logged in, submitting an abstract is a 3-step process.

*Step 1: Select the category and presentation format (oral, poster) then add the abstract title and body. Limited formatting can be applied to the body and we also provide you with the ability to insert special characters . When you're done click "Add Abstract" to save and preview what has been submitted. Use "Edit Abstract" to change anything or click "Add/Edit Institutions" to move to Step 2.

**Step 2: "Add/Edit Institutions" asks you to add the institutions to which the authors are affiliated or where the work was done. Click "Continue" to save.

***Step 3: "Add/Edit Authors" requires you to enter the author(s) details and indicate each author's position and identify which one is the presenting author. Select the institution for each author from the drop-down list. You can return to "Edit Institutions" to edit or add institutions. Click "Continue" to save.

You are then shown the complete abstract. The authors should appear in the correct order and their institutional affiliation indicated by superscripts. The name of the presenting author should be underlined. Please check everything carefully and if necessary go back to edit the abstract, institutions or authors, in that order.

Note: You will be able to view and edit any abstracts you have submitted until the closing date for the particular congress. Conference organisers will have access to all abstracts.

1. Die besluit of u werk vir aanbieding by die Akademiese jaardag aanvaar word, berus uitsluitlik op dié opsomming. Dit moet dus volledig, duidelik dog bondig en taalkundig korrek wees.

2. Die abstrak liggaam is beperk tot 300 woorde. Meld asseblief titels bv. prof, dr, ens. sowel as die departement(e) van die referent en medewerker(s). Selfs indien u werk as individuele poging aangebied word, moet u nogtans die name en departemente van medewerkers aandui. Moet nie die Fakulteit of Universiteit se naam byvoeg tensy u verwys na 'n medewerker buite US nie.

3. Vir die samestelling van die program sal die abstrak beoordeel word op grond van die volgende:
· 'n Inleiding wat die probleem en doelstellings duidelik stel.
· Vermelding van die metodes gebruik.
· Die resultate verkry - numeriese data word verkies. Hierdie deel van die teks is die belangrikste.
· Die gevolgtrekking(s) gemaak uit die resultate, met 'n kort verwysing na die implikasie(s) daarvan.

4. Vermy onnodige of vae sinsnedes, bv.: "Dit is reeds lank bekend dat...." of "Die resultate sal bespreek word".
· Dui aan of die resultate statisties ontleed is deur "p" , "r" of ander waardes aan te dui.
· Afkortings kan gebruik word, mits die betekenis daarvan in die teks verklaar word.
· Gebruik SI-eenhede deurgaans.
· Verwysings moet tot 'n minimum beperk word en moet in die teks ingesluit word (van en voorletters, titel, joernaalafkorting, jaar van publikasie, volume en bladsye).

5. Die opsomming moet nie illustrasies of tabelle bevat nie.

6. Grootte van plakkate is 100cm x 90cm (lengte x breedte).
